Dürr Group donates for earthquake victims

Bietigheim-Bissingen, February 13, 2023 — The Dürr Group supports relief efforts in the regions of Turkey and Syria affected by the earthquake. The company donates a total of €150,000, the majority of which goes to the German Red Cross. An amount of €15,000 of this sum comes from the two legal entities of Dürr and HOMAG in Turkey and will go to the non-governmental aid organization AHBAP. In addition, employees are organizing cash and in-kind donation drives.

“The images of the destruction and the daily increase in the death toll have greatly upset us all,” says Dr. Jochen Weyrauch, CEO of Dürr AG. “This disaster has brought suffering to so many people in just a few minutes, taking away their loved ones and destroying their homes. It was therefore soon clear to us that we had to help.”

The German Red Cross is working closely with its partners in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in the relief efforts. In addition to rescue and salvage operations, this also includes providing blood reserves and supplying survivors with food and clothing.

Campaigns by the employees
The earthquake has also triggered a great wave of sympathy among the Dürr Group’s workforce. At the Dürr headquarters in Bietigheim and other places, employees collect donations in kind, which will be brought to the disaster area in collaboration with a Turkish aid organization. Employees of the two legal entities and a Dürr service center in Turkey have already donated to various rescue organizations in the country.
