Dürr digitalizes purchasing processes with Coupa

In order to ensure efficient and transparent processes in purchasing for suppliers and employees, Dürr has implemented Coupa’s eProcurement solution.

Coupa is a cloud-based business-to-business (B2B) platform that supports the source-to-contract process. Coupa simplifies collaboration in supplier onboarding and master data maintenance, as well as in tenders and contract creation. In addition, the purchase-to-order process in indirect purchasing will be mapped with Coupa in the future. 

Dürr will roll out Coupa across the Group, starting with Dürr AG, Dürr Systems AG, and Dürr Group Services GmbH in Germany in November 2024. The previous SRM system with corresponding EDI/WEB-EDI connections will remain in parallel operation for the time being. 

The rollout of Coupa in the companies of Carl Schenck AG and HOMAG Group AG will take place successively. We will inform you of any changes in these two areas in due course. Until then, we will maintain the existing processes.

Coupa Supplier Portal (CSP)

From the time Coupa goes live, the Coupa Supplier Portal (CSP) will be used to onboard new suppliers and update supplier master data.

Note: The Coupa Verified status advertised by Coupa is not a prerequisite for working with Dürr. Acquiring this status has no influence on supplier decisions within the Dürr Group and is therefore not recommended by Dürr.

Sourcing – Participate in tenders with Coupa

There are two types of sourcing events in Coupa: Standard Sourcing and Sourcing Optimization (CSO) 

Tenders:

Standard Sourcing: is used for non-complex tenders in indirect and direct requirements

Sourcing Optimization (CSO): is used for complex tenders and e-auctions

In the future, Dürr will conclude and track new contracts via Coupa. The big advantage is that both parties can work on the contract and there is no need to send e-mails with different statuses. Contracts will then be signed using our partner solution DocuSign. If other colleagues in your company are responsible for processing the contract, you can simply invite them as well.

Supplier onboarding and master data update

The onboarding process for new suppliers at Dürr is managed by the purchasing department. As a potential new supplier, you will receive an invitation from us to register, which will be sent to your known contact details.

In order to record your company profile, we will ask you to complete various questionnaires. You will have the option of answering the questions directly in the questionnaire or registering on the Coupa Supplier Portal to enjoy additional benefits. With the integrated Supplier Information Management (SIM) forms, the Coupa Supplier Portal offers you the flexibility to easily update your company profile and important information such as company name, address, contact details, bank details, or certificates at any time. The validation of your entered banking information is done via e-mail and telephone. Selected suppliers are also invited to participate in preventive measures as part of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG).

Please note that master data updates can only be initiated by you as a supplier in the Coupa Supplier Portal (CSP). If you are not registered in the CSP, please contact your purchasing contact to receive the corresponding questionnaire for updating master data via e-mail.

We also invite our existing suppliers to complete a short qualification process to ensure that their company profile is up to date.

Important: For simplified onboarding and also for subsequent supplier master data maintenance, Dürr recommends that you use and register with the → Coupa Supplier Portal.
