Your Tasks
- Be responsible for ensuring that the Engineering and CAD teams achieve all proposals and project programme objectives.
To generate tender documentation in line with the customers requested bid due dates.
To ensure that customer requirements and expectations are fully understood and considered.
To consider alternative solutions to customer proposals demonstrating appropriate advantages both technically and commercially.
To liaise with Group to obtain the most up to date estimating information, ensuring both the Proposals team and the estimating system are kept up date with the latest information.
To actively explore with customer and suppliers cost effective solutions.
When appointed, take on the role of Proposals Co-ordinator for overall responsibility of proposals.
Work with Sales Managers to determine which enquiries we should provide customer quotations for taking into account competitiveness, competency, solution and capacity.
Your Skills
- With a relevant qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent level of industry experience and a sound mechanical engineering knowledge, you will have experience of estimation / proposals development and proposal preparation and presentation.
- Experience from within a process industry is required, ideally with ‘brownfield’ experience.
- Paint plant / paint finishing experience would be an advantage, as would knowledge of automotive / related industries.
- You will have the ability to understand customer requirements and specifications, and be creative, coming up with new ideas and solutions.
- You will be good at developing relationships with customers with the ability to build trust and confidence.
- You will have good influencing and persuading skills.
- Commercial and financial awareness is required.
- Experience of working within both office and site environments is required.
- You will be organised, methodical and self motivated and have the ability to prioritise and plan workloads and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- You will have a flexible approach and be able to work independently and within a team.
- Based at our head office Warwick, under a home / office hybrid working arrangement, you will need to be flexible with regard to travel and working time since this role could take you around both the UK and overseas.
- A willingness to develop and increase personal knowledge and experience is essential.
