Helping prevent road accidents

Bietigheim-Bissingen, August 25, 2021 – Dürr AG donates €100,000 to the Ludwigsburg District Road Safety Organization. The company uses the funds to support the construction of a traffic safety center for the Ludwigsburg district in Asperg. In this way, Dürr would like to contribute to more safety in road traffic, especially for children.

“If only one serious accident is avoided as a result of our donation, then our commitment was worth the effort,” says Dr. Jochen Weyrauch, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Dürr AG. “Health protection and occupational safety play an important role at Dürr. That is why this donation is a perfect fit for our company values.” Dürr is providing €50,000 each in this year and the next.

Together with the Ludwigsburg police headquarters, the district and numerous municipalities, the District Road Safety Organization is currently building the traffic safety center in Asperg. There, all fourth-grade school children from Ludwigsburg, Bietigheim-Bissingen and other surrounding communities will get their “bicycle riding licenses”. The training will take place in close collaboration between the police and the District Road Safety Organization with the schools.

Practice safely
For this purpose, a bicycle training area will be integrated into the Asperg premises of the Road Safety Organization, where the children will safely experience all traffic situations to which they are also exposed in real life. Theoretical content will be taught to the fourth graders in a training building. In addition, motor skills training for children, school bus training, riding safety training, eco-training, pedelec training, holiday programs and much more are to be held at the traffic safety center.
