Industry 4.0 platforms are smart software systems that provide connectivity and flexibility for production processes. In essence, they contain a manufacturing execution system (MES) for production control. Added to that are new technical concepts such as predictive maintenance, cloud capability and big data analytics.
To create its ranking, Experton analyzed six criteria: scalability (via cloud), analytics/big data capabilities, breadth and depth of functionality, micro-service approach, references, and software provider strategy. Experton sees the companies that have been rated leaders as "strategic pacesetters and opinion leaders" and recognizes their innovative strength, stability, highly attractive range of products and services as well as strong market position and competitive edge.
iTAC Software AG has been part of the Dürr Group since the end of 2015. This acquisition has enabled Dürr to significantly expand its Industry 4.0 software range. Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Dürr AG, says: "With iTAC, we are one of the highest-performing providers of digital production connectivity. The current ranking endorses iTAC's leading position and confirms that we have gained a company with extraordinary potential."
The new I4.0 platform, iTAC.IoT.Suite, is a new development based on the established MES software solutions of iTAC (iTAC.MES.Suite) and Dürr (EcoEMOS). The iTAC.IoT.Suite contains not only the established modules of iTAC.MES.Suite and Dürr EcoEMOS but also a number of new features. This gives Dürr and iTAC a future-oriented software platform. Existing customers who use the iTAC.MES.Suite and Dürr EcoEMOS will continue to receive support and updates for their existing systems and will also be entitled to modular extensions. So far, iTAC has equipped over 200 factories worldwide with its software, mainly in the automotive supply and electrical industries.
