Uncover and discover
Feb 12, 2021
Get in on the game and discover the company history of the Dürr Group in a different manner.
Full concentration
Find ten pairs of pictures among the cards lying face down. But be careful! There are no identical images. In our game, a photo from the past and a matching photo from the present form a pair. That means you don’t just need a good memory, but also an eye for detail. Focus on possible common features you discover in the images. These can be found, for example, in people, activities or objects. It is worthwhile to take a closer look!
Good preparation makes a difference
Get fit for the game and get to know the Dürr Group and its → history better.
How it works
Uncover two cards by clicking on any two card backs one after the other. If the two cards form a pair, you can not only be happy about your success, but also receive a little extra information. Subsequently, the pair of cards found remains face up. If the images do not match, both cards are automatically turned over again. Be sure to memorize the position of the cards, so you will be able to find the matching images faster. The game ends when all the matching card pairs are uncovered.
By the way: No failed attempts are counted, nor does the clock run against you. It is the fun that counts! Is the game too tricky for you? Then read the note at the bottom of the page.

The roots of the Dürr Group lie in Stuttgart’s district of Bad Cannstatt, where Paul Dürr founded a
metal shop for roof flashing in 1896. The Swabian workshop has since become a global mechanical and
plant engineering firm headquartered in Bietigheim-Bissingen.
It's a match!
Having laid the foundation for the Dürr Group in 1896, master tinsmith Paul Dürr was at the helm of
his
business for more than three decades. 125 years later, the company is a listed stock corporation and
is
headed by a man who also embodies consistency: Ralf W. Dieter has been CEO of Dürr AG since 2006.

Under the leadership of Heinz Dürr, the family business became a global ‘mid-sized multinational’.
With
his down-to-earth approach, the company founder’s grandson always seeks contact with the workforce.
Even
as Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board and principal shareholder, he still maintains close
ties
to the company and its employees.

In the 1920s, Paul Dürr bought the first company car: an old ‘Adler’, which was also used for
driving
lessons at the time. Many employees learned to drive in it. Of course, those who get into one of the
vehicles of the Dürr Group’s fleet today will already have the required driving skills. However,
they
may also gain a new experience: their first drive in an electric car.
It's a match!
In the early years, Dürr’s entire workforce would easily fit in one picture. Those times are long
gone.
Today, with more than 16,000 employees in over 30 countries, only a fraction of the staff fit in a
group
photo.

After World War II, Dürr ventured into plant engineering. In 1950 the company delivered its first
plant
– a machine for the surface treating of disk wheels. Seven decades later, Dürr is one of the world's
leading mechanical and plant engineering firms. The products offered by the Group’s three brands,
Dürr,
Schenck and HOMAG, are used not only in the automotive industry but also in sectors like
woodworking, in
the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and in electrical engineering and electronics.

Thanks to Paul Dürr’s love of modern technology the metal shop for roof flashing could be reached by
telephone as early as the beginning of the 20th century – not a given back then. Nowadays,
communication
by phone is becoming increasingly rare. After all, Dürr moves with the times: Online chats and
videoconferencing have become an integral part of the communication toolbox.

Dürr has a long tradition of technological innovations. In the field of application technology, the
company has launched the EcoPaintJet robot painting system, a groundbreaking solution for avoiding
overspray. A high-tech applicator ensures that the paint lands only on the intended surfaces when
the
body is painted. In 2020, Dürr received the German Innovation Award in the “Large Enterprises”
category
for the EcoPaintJet.
It's a match!
Dürr operates as a unified team, which is demonstrated by the employees and not just in the
workplace.
Even outside the office and the site, team spirit is of great importance. Whether kicking a football
or
shooting hoops – company sporting events have always been very popular.
It's a match!
Developing junior staff means investing in the future. From the very beginning, Dürr has followed
this
principle by attaching great importance to training young people. Back then, tinsmith apprentices
were
learning their trade on the roofs in the Stuttgart region. Then the company grew, and so did the
training opportunities. In the anniversary year of 2021, the Dürr Group has around 400 apprentices
and
cooperative state university students in Germany alone.
Thanks for playing!
A lot has happened in the last 125 years. The small craft business has become a global corporation.
But
obviously, not everything has changed. Dürr would also like to maintain the balance between
continuity
and progress in the future.
You want to play again?
Reload the page or visit it again at a later point in time. All cards will then be re-shuffled and the game can start all over again. You will definitely find it a little easier the second time.
