…in the digital factory for our customers
To act more quickly, we have pooled our software activities in three digital factories with flat hierarchies and agile processes.
Analytics applications often work with artificial intelligence and algorithms, and their areas of application include quality control, root cause analysis, and predictive maintenance. In order to develop our digital solutions, we have set up digital factories at Dürr Systems, Schenck and the HOMAG Group which work closely together. Using agile working methods and short decision-making channels, they can offer new products faster.
…in the Global IT for our employees
The Dürr Global IT Software Development Team provides software development services for Dürr Group corporations by covering different technological platforms such as SAP ABAP and Fiori, Microsoft SharePoint, M365, robotic process automation (RPA) workflows based on the K2 Blackpearl engine, and native mobile development.
The development team operates from Software Development Centers in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany) and Noida (India). Both centers work together as virtual teams on various software applications, sharing the agile philosophy and work ethics. The scrum method enables the teams to develop solutions quickly and flexibly in close collaboration with our internal customers.
What is it like to work in the Digital Factory?
I am software commissioner in the digital factory. With the work at and together with the customer I am getting many insights to the work in the paint shop and can bring these into the development of new software solutions. My interdisciplinary team and the working together with other teams are very enriching.
The best products emerge from self-organizing teams of motivated professionals. In the digital factory we cultivate agile mindset, share the spirit of innovation and apply agile methods and tools that help us delivering customer value frequently.
In our Digital Factory, we are developing analytics products in several development teams optimizing our plants and machines based on data driven methods. What I find particularly fascinating about my work is the interdisciplinary collaboration between data scientists, software developers and process engineers. The resulting synergies enable us to work as a team to tackle the many complex tasks to be solved in our plants and machines for digital customer solutions.
Working in the digital factory gives me the great opportunity to actively influence the development of our software products with the goal to make customer's daily work easier. A close interaction with the customer gives us the chance for direct feedback from the end-users and allows us to adapt the software even better to their needs. For the success of our software products as well as the personal development, the cooperation in international and interdisciplinary teams is another big plus in digital factory.
What is it like to work in the Global IT?
Working with our clients on the next great piece of software, discussing their needs and offering limitless possibilities of what an application might do for them, helping people realize the potential of a perfectly designed solution – all of that is exciting. But seeing it become a reality, that is a whole different level. And in the end, every so often I see them go “wow” when they look at the software – seeing that has to be the one of the best feelings. I get to experience that here – in the Dürr Group.
Operative IT offers IT services in the fields of hybrid IT, mobility, cloud, security as well as virtualization for the whole Dürr Group. Besides stable and secure operations of all IT systems including the development of IT infrastructure, we also provide IT support and IT consulting for certain departments and end-users worldwide at 120 locations. The close and friendly collaboration of all global IT employees is based on corporate standards, is a lot of fun, and has one common objective: the success of the Dürr Group.

Working in the Dürr Group IT department has allowed me to collaborate with clients from different geographies and domains on key business processes. Moreover, being in charge of robotic process automation (RPA) and artificial intelligence (AI) puts me in the position to optimize and digitalize processes with the latest IT trends and developments. The Dürr Group has also offered me an invaluable chance to work with enthusiastic and talented people in our development centers.
