Your Tasks:
- Responsible for the direct monitoring of fabrication subcontractors in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Responsible for ensuring a quality product, on time deliveries, and controlling cost. Liaison between in house engineering and purchasing with fabrication subcontractors, liaison between fabrication subcontractors and Durr installation sites. Responsible to work with Purchasing and Engineering to review proposed subcontracts, scopes of work, responsibility matrices, release for fabrication drawings, and schedules prior to awarding purchase orders.
- Make on site visits to suppliers to track progress and adherence to schedule for outsourced manufacturing and prepare reports on the same.
- Make on site visits to suppliers to ensure outsourced manufacturing for sheet metal, structural steel and related products meets stringent technical and quality requirements and prepare reports on the same.
- Verify fabrications for dimensional tolerances, perform quality control checks and evaluate methods/procedures to determine how quality might be improved
- Works directly with engineers and project managers to determine procedures, priorities and scheduling for outsourced manufacturing.
- Assists buyers with the identification and technical evaluation of suppliers and technical support in pricing negotiations.
- Assist buyers in qualifying and developing new suppliers for fabricated products.
- Travel approximately 50-70%
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Your Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience preferred
- 3 years of position related experience
- Able to read and understand technical engineering drawings and documents, 3D models, project schedules
- Knowledgeable on all shop fabrication operations.
- Experience in GMAW, GTAW, SMAW weld processes for mild steel and stainless, able to inspect and troubleshoot weld processes and procedures.
- Experience in visual weld inspection, dye penetrant weld inspection/testing other NDT testing protocols.
- Familiar with AWS, ASME, and AISC welding and fabrication standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Project
- Exceptional time management skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment
- Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
