The primer line for the plant in Sweden will use powder coating. The powder coating facility is equipped with a powder recovery system, in which the powder not adhering to the cab is collected, treated and made available for re-use. The powder coating application is carried out with 14 Dürr painting robots of types EcoRP L033, EcoRP L133 and EcoRP E033. In winning the contract in the second quarter of 2012, Dürr benefited from its experience in powder coating application. An additional factor was that truck cabs are already painted in Dürr paint lines for Scania, Freightliner and Volvo, among others.
In Brazil, where Dürr founded its first foreign subsidiary as early as 1964, Dürr is going to install a conventional wet paint topcoat line with two EcoRP E133 painting robots. This line is designed for a capacity of six truck cabs per hour, while the line in Sweden will paint 20 units per hour. In both plants the powder and paint supply are included in the contract scope.
