The standardized MES software from iTAC is suitable for big data management in production. It collects huge volumes of data from all areas of a factory and evaluates the findings. This provides the operator with extensive real-time information on key production figures, such as consumption of materials and energy, cycle time and capacity utilization. On this basis the operator can identify potential for optimization and make his production more efficient.
The company iTAC Software AG was established in 1998 as a spin-off of Bosch’s telecommunications division at the time. With a workforce of about 90 employees, the company combines expertise in the fields of IT and production technology. iTAC has already equipped over 140 factories worldwide in various industry segments with the cloud-based MES software iTAC.MES.Suite. Customers include carmakers and automotive component suppliers as well as major producers in the segments of electronics, telecommunications and medical technology. The scalable software can be smoothly adjusted to various areas of deployment. In 2015, iTAC will generate roughly € 15 million in sales and will clearly be in positive earnings territory.
With iTAC Dürr gains decisive additional expertise for extending its MES business and its activities in the Industry 4.0 segment. Together with iTAC Dürr will further develop the existing Dürr MES software EcoEMOS. EcoEMOS is deployed in numerous automobile factories, among others in Volkswagen´s new Polish factory in Września to control the entire facility.
Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Dürr AG: “Manufacturing execution systems are a growth market and a key basis of Industry 4.0 as they facilitate end-to-end digitalization and networking of machinery and plant all the way through to entire factories. Both are becoming increasingly important for our customers when purchasing production facilities. Accordingly, the iTAC acquisition is the right investment at exactly the right point in time.”
In addition to the joint further development of EcoEMOS, iTAC will continue and extend its existing business. In addition, the company will support the Dürr divisions with their Industry 4.0 activities.
Peter Bollinger, CEO of iTAC Software AG: “Being a strong industrial partner, Dürr is the ideal match for iTAC. With its financial clout and global presence, Dürr offers us optimum conditions for growth and further development of our technologies.”
Dieter Meuser, founder and CTO of iTAC: “iTAC has both IT expertise and technical production know-how. This enables us to stand out from our competitors. Operating under Dürr’s shared roof, we’ll be able to extend our strong position in the context of Industry 4.0.”
Dürr acquired the shares in iTAC from various holding companies. They had been invested for a number of years and terminated their investment after recording substantial value growth to give iTAC new development potential under the roof of an industrial group of companies.
