Dürr Thailand will be supported by Dürr’s international Group network and its role, together with Parker Engineering, will be to intensify both the service and new systems business in Southeast Asia. For this purpose, Dürr is focusing not only on the painting robot business but also on the marketing of energy-efficient production technologies.
With its rising per-capita income, Southeast Asia is one of the most attractive markets of the future for the automobile industry. Experts forecast a rise in automobile production in Southeast Asia of more than 10% per year on average until 2016.
Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Dürr AG: “We are strengthening our presence in Southeast Asia in order to support our customers from the automobile industry even more effectively in building local production capacity.” Aside from Western producers, Dürr is also targeting manufacturers from Japan and other Asian countries. “Japan’s automobile industry has high market shares in Southeast Asia. Together with Parker Engineering, we are planning to expand our business with Japanese customers”, Dieter said.
Dürr has already built more than 40 paint shops in Southeast Asia since the 1970s. Most recently, the company brought into service a paint shop for Ford in Thailand. With Dürr Thailand Co. Ltd., the Dürr Group is now represented by its own companies in 23 countries.
